The Volkswagen engine packs a mean combustion process that goes way beyond normal temperature level. This is important in order to have an efficient combustion process on the air/fuel mixture inside the engine cylinder. A certain amount of percentage of fuel is converted to heat along the process. The two types of cooling system in the Volkswagen consist of: a) liquid cooling and b) air cooling. It absorbs the heat from the engine and goes out to pass through the heat exchanger (or radiator) to transfer this heat to the air blowing through the exchanger. While for the air-cooling type of system, the engine block is concealed in aluminum fins that conduct the heat away form the cylinder. A fans blows off potently over the fins, cooling out the engine by venting this heat through the air.
